Pairing
It is easy to pair with any kind of meat and grilled mushrooms. Some fish a lot of flavor or fatty, like tuna or cod. Cheeses of medium healing; emmental and gruyere. Pasta with tomato and/or cheese.

Tasting notes: MARQUÉS DE VITORIA – MARQUÉS DE VITORIA TINTO RESERVA 2011

  • View: Clean, bright, attractive cherry color with evolution of garnet.
  • Nose: On the nose it is intense, warm. Notes of vanilla and spices. Aromas of black fruits and very ripe.
  • Mouth: Stylish tour in-mouth, fresh, balanced. Long persistence.

The winery

Marqués de Vitoria goes through the journey of innovation and modernity, and embarks on this journey from the engagement with the environment and the personality welcoming of their land, Rioja Alavesa. The winery and its wines combine perfectly the essence and the roots of this earth with the ability to innovate. Marqués de Vitoria is concern, yearning for exploring new paths, it is freedom and authenticity.

Located in Oyón, Rioja Alavesa, it has a surface built of 8.700 square feet, in the rest 960.00 bottles. It also has 47 wine racks private, irst, of customers and friends. In its architecture include their ships barrels with a wood-panelled old.

Vineyards

The estates of the Marquis of Vitoria, 100 % the property, extend the terms of the D. O. Ca Rioja Oyón, Barriobusto and Mendavia. An area located approximately 650 meters above sea level that provide us with grapes with great aromatic potential.

58 hectares of vineyard of the varieties Tempranillo and 4 hectares of Viura for the development of our white.

    VINEYARD (VITICULTURE)
    From vineyards located in La Rioja, from soils of gravel and clay calcareous, give the wine the structure and balance needed to comply with the required quality of the crianza wines. In this wine Ederra Crianza is present Garnacha, traditional blends of Rioja for wines aged with Tempranillo, giving the wine freshness and length, and improving its ability to aging. A key part in the vineyard has been the pruning, that made a early has insured the health of the clusters.
    PAIRING
    Ederra Crianza combines with the creamy cheeses and the flash cures. The sausages, mushrooms, dishes of beans or a tortilla of potatoes, in addition to the classic pairing: meat dishes with a vintage Rioja.

    Ederra Reserva it is the expression of the characteristic fresh and fruity red wine Tempranillo, with notes of toast and spice from the barrel aging.
    DEVELOPMENT (VINIFICATION)
    Ederra reserva search for the expression of the traditional Reservations of Rioja. Expression of fruit and complexity thanks to a good upbringing in wood and bottle. After de-stemming and crushing, takes place a fermentation classic, to 28 ºC, with 2 weeks of maceration. The wine passes 18 months in american oak barrels, where you complete the character fresh and fruity wine with notes of toast and spice of the barrel, the tannins are polished and the wine is rounded. After bottling remains in the bottle for at least two years to get ready for your consumption.
    VINEYARD (VITICULTURE)
    From vineyards located in the Rioja Alta, area marked by the atlantic influence. The soils are predominantly chalky clay, with low fertility. The climate and the soil, states the characteristics of the Tempranillo are going to allow red wines fresh, with good fruit expression and a capacity for aging optimal to obtain Reserve wines.

    Red meats and game dishes, roasted, poultry, white meat, serrano ham, charcuterie, cheeses, blue cheeses combine perfectly with Ederra Reserva.
