Description

Tasting notes: Angels of Amaren

High layer cherry red color.

The aromas are of great intensity, with a very marked fruit load on a wooden background and dairy nuances with spicy notes.

In the mouth it is tasty and expressive with a smooth and fresh tannin. Its end is long with memories of red and black fruit appearing.

The winery

Bodegas Amaren was born in honor of Ángeles, wife of Luis Cañas and mother of Juan Luis (Luis Cañas wineries, Rioja Alavesa).

In 1995, Juan Luis Cañas was thinking of making a different wine, a wine that fully expresses the personality of the variety. A 100% Tempranillo from several parcels of old vineyards. At that moment, his mother Angeles dies and it is when he decides to dedicate his creation, her new perfume: Amaren Reserva Tempranillo 1995. That's where everything comes from, of love to a mother, because Amaren in Basque means “from the mother”. Ángeles was a fundamental pillar in the creation and development of Bodegas Luis Cañas and for this reason, her son does not stop until he can honor her with his own winery in 2016.

Concrete, Stone and wood, that's the essence Amaren.
