Description

Tasting notes: Baron de Ley White Wine

Pale yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose it surprises for its great expressiveness, with an attractive range of exotic aromas, aromatic herbs and dill. The palate, perfect balance between degree and acidity, fresh, long.

The winery

In Baron de Ley, the harvest is carried out manually not only in order to pamper each grape bunch as much as possible but also to value our greatest asset: the vineyard. Like is logic, the fact of having the grape "at the foot of the cellar" contributes especially to the quality of the wines, by minimizing the entry times of the grapes to the winery during the harvest, thus avoiding unwanted fermentations during transport.

This great advantage has also allowed us, the implementation through the years of an ambitious manual grape selection policy. For more than a decade, the production of grapes from our best farms is harvested in boxes with a capacity of 300 kilos and transported to our two selection tables in the cellar. There, each and every cluster is visually inspected, discarding those that are not in perfect condition and resulting in a "selection from the selection of our best farms" ... grapes of the most extraordinary quality.

Currently at Barón de Ley we manually select more than 850.000 kilos of grapes in each vintage, in an unprecedented bet in our country, discarding grape percentages that generally fluctuate between the 10 % and 20 % depending on the vintage and origin.
