Turnip greens are of the family of Cruciferous vegetables, the variety Rapa.

Features by its leaves that are bright green and fibrous, it is a great ally for weight loss diets because of its high water content and fiber, carbohydrates, protein and very low in calories.

Turnip greens are the flower stalks tender, just before you see the buds of the flowers.

Since always part of the ‘caldo gallego’ and as not, the so famous ready for carnival ‘lacón con grelos’.

White is edible while tender. When the flower is developed, the white hardens and it is not possible to your consumption.

Grown in Galicia, from a very ancient by their appreciated value as a vegetable. Although the most appreciated is the area of Lugo ‘of the variety White Globe’, which is collected after the severe frost of January, what makes them more tender and less acidic than other areas.

    I have been tremendously disappointed when I opened the pot of turnip tops. More than half were cañotos, namely, what we normally throw away. It is normal for them to have some but not so much. I will not buy them again
